MessageHi,

My dad (Jerry W. Sharpe) served aboard the USS Randolph from 1958-1963 as a Seaman 1st Class.
I am trying to put together a special gift for him for Christmas and would love to find anyone that remembers or served with him during that time. I'm also looking to find pictures to make a collage to include in the gift as I wish for the gift to be as special as he is to me.

If you served with him and remember him please contact me at [email protected].

Thank you so much for any and all help. And thank you so much to all that have and continue to serve.

God Bless you,

Jill Sharpe Myrick

MessageMy father, CPO YNC Bertram Neil Selz was on the Randolph in the late 50's and early 1960's.

I enjoy reading the ship's experiences and history, and seeing the old photographs of a time when my father was part of the Navy before retiring in 1965.

MessageI served aboard the Randolph during the period from approximately 1966 to 1968. We made several cruises to the Carribean and one to Europe. I wish I could recall more about the time spent aboard the Randolph, but I simply can't. I was in the crews who accompanied the Randolph to the Charlestown Naval Shipyard prior to being transferred to the USS Yorktown. I was discharged from the Navy while serving aboard the Yorktown (CR Division) on August 27, 1969 while berthed in Norfolk, Virginia.

MessageI served aboard the Randolph in the late 1960's in the CR (Communications) Division under LCDR Robert Peek. I need any information pertaining to asbestos exposure. I was with the de-commissioning crew at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard after we returned from Europe around 1967??? Any help would be appreciated.
