| Message | I truly commend your effort and your husbands effort.
India (especially Karnataka) has become a laughing stock even internationally. I hail from Bangalore and am sometimes ashamed at the feedback I get from my friends and colleagues when they visit Bangalore on business. Politicians in Karnataka are concerned purely about themselves and their big fat bellies. Infrastructure in Bangalore has become dismal rendering this once glorious city to shambles.
Politicians in India (and especially Karnataka) are purely self-serving and unless you are corrupt, you cannot make headway in your career. How then do people expect youngsters to get into the IAS? To lead a decent life in Bangalore, one must be prepared to grease the palm of individuals all the way. Is this what democracy in India gives us?
I am sorry about the rambling, but it is frustrating. People close to me say, "What's the point in complaining from the US, come here and do something about it". Until now, I did'nt think anyone would step up and take the courageous step to expose corruption. For that, I salute you and your husband. I have forwarded the NY Times article to other friends so they become aware of this as well.
God be with you. I hope the corrupt officers in Karnataka fuel their own downfall. |
