| Message | Looks like we should start thinking about a draft date. Let's throw out some date potentials. |

| Message | Sounds like a proposal to vote on at this point. GM Derksen would you be willing to write up a draft of the motion we could all vote on? |

| Message | I spoke with GM Farmhand regarding the proposal and he was supportive of the idea. |

| Message | since we're throwing out ideas.. you could use your wild card pick as an "emergency roster move" instead of acquiring a player. for those infamous long term injuries on the first day of the month. |

| Message | i like it. it's a first come first serve pick which i think answers rob's question. my only issue is that it has the potential to move the 1st overall november mid-season pick into as poor as an 8th overall pick if everyone were to pull the trigger on their wild card pick before the end of november. one benefit is that there is one less midseason draft to police. i'd suggest freezing november for wildcard picks so that the november draft still has some interesting pieces in it. then you really have to make an early wild card pick to have any effect on the november draft. you could still use your wild card pick at the end of the november draft in draft order to activate 2 new players for december. |

| Message | Interesting thought Derksen - upon first reflection it seems quite interesting. I think the biggest gap in the idea would be determining order and who gets first dibs, and specifically when that pick could be made. |

| Message | I have an idea to throw out for discussion. A tweak to the Feb mid season pick, to try and add some interest, trade discussion, and value to the Feb mid season picks. My idea would be to turn the Feb mid season pick into a "wild card" pick, which could be used at any time during the season. If a GM has a Feb pick, they could use that pick at any time during the season, and insert that player into their lineup at the end of the month. This would require some strategy in deciding how aggressive or early in the season you may use up your pick, to maybe snag a player having a fast start to the season, or maybe a GM has their eye on a dark horse prospect that they just can't wait to get their hands on. You could acquire multiple Feb picks, thus have multiple "wild card" picks in your possession. I welcome your feedback and thoughts? Am I missing an obvious problem with this type of "wild card" pick? |
