MessageFirstly, the previous 2 posts in regards to the Chow Town Bruins where very well stated. I would have to agree with both Phil and Cam on this issue. I would like to give Shane an opportunity to explain himself publicly as well, as their may be circumstances that we are not aware of, affecting his lack of communication in this pool. If he provides reasonable explanation I have no problem with him continuing in the pool. I spoke with Shane on the phone prior to the pre season redraft and he sounded like a good guy we can all get along with, and I'm sure no one has any intention to make this personal. The lack of payment, lack of response which translates into no interest, and now missing a draft are significant issues however. I can think of at least 2 friends of mine who would jump at the chance to be in this pool, and I'm sure there are many others out there. Come forward and lets hear what you have to say Shane, then we can go from there.

Messagefirst the link... it wouldn't let me post with the "dots" in.. as in "wwwdotcom".

Now onto Shane, I agree with Cam in his level of respect for Shane and this is nothing against him as a person (I've never met him).

To me the not paying for 7 or 8 years in a $ pool when other people are is inexcusable. It needed to have been dealt with long ago.

Next, the inactivity is a major problem. I realize that I am more active than most in my hockey pools, I happen to really enjoy them, I definitely don't expect the same level of activity or interest that I bring to the table... but when the inactivity affects the pool negatively the GM in question needs to make a decision about continuing. I believe the Chowtown level of activity (even before the missed draft) is just too low. It is hurting the pool as a whole. Add in missing the draft entirely (which as Cam says may have a valid excuse and as an isolated circumstance would be forgivable) and it is a major problem for the FHL.

I would definitely advise hearing from Shane publicly on this, the money, his interest in the pool and the draft specifically, then making a decision on moving forward with a new commitment from him or a search for a replacement GM.

First and foremost, hockey pools should be fun, this is a great group of guys (I've been in pools with problems) with a great level of activity, trash talk and respect, Chowtown is affecting the level of fun, and my guess is he's not having much of his own in the FHL

MessageI feel it is now time to approach the controversial topic of The Chowtown Bruins. I'd like to preface this by saying I have no ill will or animosity towards the Bruins and if there are some extenuating circumstances causing the following issues, I apologize.

In my opinion, The Bruins are not committed to this pool. This has been an issue for a sometime and it seems to be getting worse. I realize that people have varying amounts of time and interest that can be dedicated to a hockey pool, but GM Neufelds ongoing actions need to be addressed.

It starts with a total lack of email communication. Any attempt at trade talks can go weeks without a response (if any). There is also the rather large issue of nonpayment of league dues. Over the 7 or 8 years of this pools existence, I have “donated” $140+ to the likes of Rob, Dan and Chris. From what I can gather, GM Neufeld has never paid. That is not fair to anyone, especially the winner(s).

And then we come to the issue of missing the redraft which is the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back. To me, this is an act of abandonment and as far as I’m concerned, if you can’t or won’t put in the time, then something needs to happen.

I would like to hear from GM Neufeld about his current position and ideas. It is nothing personal, you may be the greatest guy in the world, I don’t know. My goal in doing this is to protect and improve the FHL.

MessageJust curious what the status of Shane's pick is? Now that all other GM's have made their picks, how long does the FHL wait for Shane? After a certain time frame does the pick go into a lottery for another lucky GM to get a bonus pick?

MessageAbsolutely no argument from me. I fully agree on that rule. When there is a rule then there isn't even a need to vote. Case closed

That being said, I would still appreciate a copy of the rules in whatever form they are in. I know you're very busy so you can photocopy and snail mail them to me and I can put them in electronic form.
