To clarify the situation - I was not aware of the situation with Bieksa when I submitted my roster moves.
As mentioned I went up to Houston for holidays with the family and, at the house we were at, the Internet is not available. They do have satellite TV but I did not watch much save for a few highlights. On the 31st a work emergency came up so I used my step-fathers makeshift office in town to do some work. I also used this time to quickly post my rosters. I did not spend time pouring over all the latest NHL news.
So that is a bit of an explanation, not that it is required.
I have always been of the opinion that there shouldn't be any special circumstances for month end roster moves. If a GM misses something like this then it is his fault. Normally, for the leaders, this hurts them. In my case you could argue that it might help me since I am currently last. I can assure you that I am not 'tanking'. This was simply an oversite due to me being out of town and not having the gumption of the likes of Goon who would have surely rode a moose into town so he could ensure that he could spend the next six hours pouring over the latest NHL news. |
