MessageBest quote of the night from Pierre "The Promoter" McGwire, "An Adonis on skates, that's Shea Weber". This was following his awesome super punch on Handzus throwing him into the net.

MessageAtta boy Tim Thomas!

I sent you on to the ice with one objective - wreck Ryan Miller's shutout.

And you did it!

MessageWow... true blasphemy. That reads something along the lines of: "the hockey of Russia number one, and Canadian - pig must die!"

I vote to kick Duke out of the FHL!

3(3) - Terror 27 (Luongo 9, Staal 6) (2 out)
4(7) - Eppsters 20 (Keith 5) (2 out)
5(4) - Goons 19 (Boyle 6) (2 out)
6(5) - Phillies 15 (Crosby 5) (3 out)

7(8) - Blazers 14 (Iginla 6) (4 out)

Shame on Dukes

The Dukes will not win their first Olympic Gold medal this season (the only fhl hardware to yet escape their grasp) - partially due to being the only FHL club not to ice a Canadian player on their roster. While the Dukes didn't have much to choose from their canadian pool, they do own one very notable player - Danny Heatly, for some unknown reason was left off the Dukes Olympic club. This left analysts scratching their heads, the GM kicking himself and FHL GMs wondering if Hiebert owns dual citizenship between Canada and Russia - revealing where his true loyalty is.

MessageApologies to Blazer, I read it after the belarus game.

As for Phaneuf, I'm a firm believer he was a bigger problem off the ice than he was a help on the ice... otherwise it's just way too crazy of a deal... that and iggy is alone up front cause all the $$ was spent at the back

MessageDarryl Sutter is such a tool.
He signs Phaneuf to a long term contract.
Two years later, he says he's "not a fan of long term contracts" and trades Phaneuf away for crap.
Then, this week he signs Bourque to a 6 year contract!!!
I know Bourque is an Eppster...but he is no Phaneuf (at least not what Phaneuf was when he signed his big deal).
Sutter doesn't understand how the salary cap works (which is why the Flames had a short bench last spring), he is completely inconsistent in his player moves...and he is a tool.

Go Canada!

MessagePhil - I was at the Norway/Swiss game at Canada place on Saturday during the round robin - it was not Belarus.

The Swiss did almost take out the US too.

The Swedes had no heart or work ethic against the slovaks - when their coach took a time out he didn't even talk to his players - weird.

If Canada can play that way for the rest of the tourney it'll be gold! I don't want to look past the Slovaks, but I want them to play the US again.

MessageWow... that was beautiful...

I have never seen AO be neutralized like that.

Slovakia is a much better matchup for this team than Sweden would've been but I sure wanted to go through Russia, Sweden and then the US if we were going to win gold.
