MessageSteve

For Christ's sake wind your neck in.
No one takes any notice of what you say.
Why didn't you make your opinions known at the recent AGM. You can't be much of a supporter of Merstham can you?

I've looked back at messages from you and you have never said anything good about the club.
Go support someone else. You're just a miserable old fart.

MessageSo when will we finally see the back of Hayden bird?
Look at our league position! Are we a team going to win promotion! Of course not!
This club can't even post messages on the forum of supporters opinions. What's the point in one message every month going live and when supporters have an opinion on the shambles it is currently just being deleted

MessageSteve
Hayden didn't grab the referee he put his hand on his shoulder the same referee has done this before and admitted he was rash. What you heard in the Clubhouse was not the 'Official Line'. I agree you are entitled to your opinion but please make sure you have all the facts first.

Johnny Moatside is not one person its a pen name for a number of people who wrote for the Website over the last couple of seasons. He has since retired.

MessageIt was really good to see Mick Sullivan at the Redhill game, and i also enjoyed the game, listening to Mick on the night, it is a real pity that he is not managing a side because he does have so much to offer to the game, and i really don't think he would of allowed the young Redhill manager to wind him up. On a couple of other points don't see where Steve Duke is going with his comments, but as a paying supporter he can say what he likes and for Jonny Moteside to come on and say he is talking out of his backside is a bit rich coming from a man whos match reporting is not always that nice to the team.

MessageYou will actually find Hayden was sent off for grabbing the referee. Why would anyone be sent off for talking to the referee? That is what the official line was after the game when people asked in the clubhouse after the game.
I don't need to make myself known at all. I pay my entry fee and am entitled to an opinion.
Is there anyone who will defend our poor start to the season?

MessageQuite frankly Mr Duke you are talking out of your backside. You are not aware of the full circumstances. At the Redhill game the Merstham bench was subjected to a constant barrage of foul-mouthed obscenities from the Redhill manager. When Hayden simply asked the referee and linesman to intervene he was dismissed. As for the Crawley game we were subjected to some appalling refereeing decisions which ruined the game. All three dismissals, including Crawley Down's, were absolutely ridiculous. If you are such an ardent supporter of Merstham, as you claim, then you would have seen this. Please make yourself known to us at the next game so you can be put in the picture.

MessageI too was present at the Merstham and Redhill game as well as the weekends encounter with Crawley Down
Our conduct has gone to pot. Hayden getting sent off was a poor example to set the team. Clearly our own on pitch antics caused us to lose again at the weekend.

I remember the days we used to have a great disciplined bunch of players and results came from teamwork rather than ill discipline.

MessageHave to say that was the most enjoyable game ive seen for a long time in the Ryman league.
Both sides fully committed to the cause of gaining 3pts. Plus the added excitment of handbags around the dug out area brough back fond memories.
On this showing both Merstham and Redhill will have good seasons its great that this fixture has been spiced up looking forward to the return at the Moatside . Tommy Hutchings was outstanding so hopefully he'll back to his best which is great news for Hayden.
PS Also nice to see lots of Ex-Players and Managers and old friends coming to watch made the night even better.

MessageAnthony

David Graves was taken off on around 20 minutes after damaging his ankle on a extremely hard and bobbly pitch. Burgess Hill equalised whilst we were down to 10 men as David was getting treated. Up until this point we were in complete control of the game and winning 1 nil. We also lost Taurean Roberts 10 minutes later and were forced into another change. Burgess Hill were able to capitalise on the forced changes and went into the lead just before half time. We came out for the second half and started well but in pushing for an equaliser we were caught on the break and unfortunately a penalty was conceded. I hope this sheds some light into the circumstances surrounding the weekend's result. With regards to letting one of the leagues best defenders go, we didn't! It was Chris Boulter's choice to leave and he is now playing for Dorking Wanders in the Surrey and Sussex county league division 1!
