| Message | Hello! I am on the administrative and artistic staff at VocalEssence, based in Minneapolis, MN. Through grant funding from the MN State Arts Board, we are starting a project called Vintage Voices, where we will start 12-week long project choirs in 6 senior centers and assisted living homes across the metro area. I will be conducting, and have a fabulous accompanist. I am currently searching for repertoire that will be accessible for these groups. I'm particularly interested in piano accompanied pieces, written in Unison and 2-part harmony, that could be accessible for the aging voice. I expect to have more women than men in each of these groups. Sacred music is fine, especially gospel hymns and spirituals. Secular jazz, pop and swing arrangements of tunes from the 1940s and 50s would be great as well! I have been searching your catalog, and think the Cambiata model could also work well for aging voices! Many thanks! |
