MessageI have taught grades 4-6 chorus for many years but have not yet had to work with boys changing voices. Next year my K-6 school is expanding to K-8 and I will definitely need to work with boys changing voices. I am confused about what is the best type of literature to be looking for; mixed voices, or 2-3 part arrangements and have the boys sing the part most comfortable for them in their range? I teach in a low-income, urban, largely hispanic and african-american community and am especially interested in latin, caribbean, and african music.
