MessageAllison,

I was scrolling through the channels last night and heard this amazing voice. I had never heard you, or of you before, but can not believe how amazing you sound. You have a voice from the heavens. Wow. As a musician for many years, I can tell you honestly, it takes a ton to impress me. You have done that and then some. You are incredible.

MessageSara - Allison has played limited shows in the U.S., primarily because it can take up to three or four months for a Canadian musician to get Visa approval to perform dates south of the border. And, we're usually travelling on shorter notice. So, Allison's American concerts have been in New York City, Ann Arbor, Bowling Green, Seattle... cities that are not far from the border crossings. She'd love to play more in the U.S. - and that's definitely something we'll work on happening in 2007!

John, southern Ontario is also on the map being drawn up for Allison's touring next year!

Thanks for the suggestions and inspiration. smilie

MessageThe song you're asking about is "I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)". Written by Ronnie Shannon, it was, indeed, recorded by Aretha Franklin. Some 40 years later, it's been recorded by Allison Crowe on her new album, This Little Bird. Check out the Music section of Allison's website for album info and an mp3 version.

Thanks for coming to the show ~ I was there, too, and it was a great show. Lots of energy flowing between artist and audience!

Thanks for being a part of it all, and, thanks, everyone, for listening.

best of the season!!

MessageI was at Allison's concert in Nanaimo on Saturday, December 16, 2006, and it was a FANTASTIC show. Thank you!! What was the name of the last song in the encore, just before the ensemble. Is it an Aretha Franklin song? Didn't Janis Joplin sing it too? Allison's version is better than any I've ever heard. Is there a recording of this from Allison?

I'll say it again: WOW!

Happy Christmas!

MessageMy wishes for 2007:

Allison, please come to tour the old continent!
It would be nice to welcome you with open arms here in Dortmund / Germany. Best place to celebrate the gig would be at the "Domicil"
w w w.domicil-dortmund.de . I know some organizing people over there and could establish contacts.

Thank you for your music which always touches the ground of my soul smilie
