Your Favourite StoryFeud and Lord of Rose Pillars
MessageHi, I just wanted to say that "Lord of Rose Pillars" is my favorite story you've written and I'm not bored at all with it, just a little perturbed at the lack of updates, haha. So far it's a great mix of fun, nerdery, and drama. Hope you get back to it some day.

MessageHiStef smilie

well you are good to be so understanding. Thank you alsoforthe kind compliments on Barad smilie it isn't a common or popular pairing and so your feedback is most welcome. cannot tell you how glad i am for your reaction to Thranduil and Legolas here, and your acceptance of Gilfaen. These two have taken on a life of their own in my mind and a missing scene, the actual closure of the epilogue, involved Legolas and Gilfaen's bonding. i left it out because they took over and pushed Elladan and Maglor right out. working on a modified and more balanced version of that, in between Feud and Aearlinn.

i've been visited with several glimpses into their future also and it is filled with lots of fun and angst of course and even has Gimli and Aragorn and Hobbits form time to time. holding onto those for relief writing,so maybe Gilfaen will get some more screen time smilie

and that you like Echuil'laer also pleases me much.i just did not want her to be a name only and it just seemed to me, if she is Elrohir's mate, that she would be strong and compassionate. he would not settle for anything less. that she is also sylvan/Telerin is pretty typicalfor me, i guess smilie i am prejudiced against those Noldorin elves, maybe. i should work on that smilie but not promising either smilie

thank you again for your unfailing support and encouragement.

MessageHI, no worries about delay, time is precious and rarest stuff these days!!
i'm also late commenting on barad epilogue: so amizing and painful to read!
in a few words (for you) you penned all of elrond suffering both for his lost brother and for his son, condemned by his own love.
and legoals and thranduil are beautifully sketched: they are not part of this story in strict terms, but they do belong.
it happens so often that minute facts of common life are linked to events destined to change history and viceversa...
oh and i fell utterly in love with Gilfaen; think you should keep this fellow around... i know Legolas is already taken in all your other stories, but Gilfaen is sooo lovely!
special mention for Echuil'laer: she has rapidly become my favourite among your feminine characters, save perhaps Rhun'waev. i bet she was a wonderul mother to Elrohir's children.
interesting that your best portraited ladies are sylvan or anyway of Teleri bloodlines.

Messagestef, I hope I responded to this fine review before now but if not then my apologies.smilie

Thank you so much for your remarks about letting the Valar deal with Ningloriel and Malthen. They need some kind of punishment but I don't want to have to be the one to dole it out. And I am really glad you liked the contrast between Malthen and Legolas' handling of the judgement . smilie

Messagethank you Sterre smilie That is one of my favourite stories to write. Still trying to get back to it. When I originally was working on it, all I got was people demanding I hurry up and move it along to the modern age world. There is a lot to do before they get there and I c=got discouraged and figured people were bored. So it went into mothballs. Hopefully I will get time to finish it.

Messagehi, a magistral chapter as always: and so also Maltahondo has been dealt with.
i think death was really the only option for him considered the nature of his sins, and even if Legolas has forgiven him i think Mandos will some hardship for him to go through (I hope the Valar have something for Ningloriel also, she had too much of an easy route out considered her negect of her child and her selfishness).
i liked the idea of the parallelism between the two ways to endure the judgement.
thank you very much for sharing this!

MessageHi Dis smilie

so glad you are still a feud fan smilie you are right, i think, and Malthen did as well as he could and earned a chance for redemption. the idea about freeing the other warriors is a very good point and one i hope folks picked up on. he fulfilled all the requirements of that gruesome Judgement so everyone should be released now. we shall see.

Yes, we left Lindalcon running in the wrong direction and i promise to get back to him in the next update. can't promise he will survive this; he is just too green, his training has not been continuous and he has never been out in the wilds alone. but i will do what i can for him, as will legolas smilie

MessageMalthen realised that he had done wrong and he also realised that the Wraiths used him as a bait to trap Legolas but he was willing to aid Legolas and warned him not to come nearer. I think he has earned a stay in Mandos, even if it is long, and he may also have bought the releise of the warriors.

I am still worried about Lindalcon though, where is he? Hopefully with friends. It would be a relief to know he is found and safe. smilie

Messagehi ebbingnight smilie

oh i am glad you liked the tree reaching out to Malthen with its last bit of strength. poor malthen, didn't really know what was happening but his gracious prayer for the fallen trees was heard and the two had a common link - the Tawarwaith each needed so desperately to save.

well, i am slow and i am just grateful you are patient.thank you for this very kind compliment smilie

it is beautiful here, true, but i will be moving a little further north soon. no opportunities for work here thus far.
thanks again smilie
