MessageI saw Avatar last night and I kept flashing back to your tawarwaith stories. In my mind the Na'vi were Moriquendi Elves which added alot to the story.

Messagethanks ebbingnight smilie and i agree 100% - Stef should definitely write more. wasn't it just the best? I have a soft spot in my heart for gimli/legolas, such a mismatched pair externally and so complimentary internally.

The picture is a small piece of a sweet illustration by Liz Rosenthal, who posts her work on elfwood.com.

MessageThank you both, Ellen and Stef, for sharing "Gimli's Gift" with us. What a wonderfully unexpected holiday present for us all!

P.S. Stef, that was very well written, especially the trust that Legolas has in Gimili even during Ôlpathu: you should write more!!

Oh, and the illustration was lovely also!

MessageThank you ebbingnight smilie yes Aragorn is just sub-par right now. He'll have a long road to win back just to get near Legolas. Granted, he did not know the real story, but he made very little effort to clarify anything. so far, only Elrohir has even bothered to find out if Legolas is even available. see, to me, even if they all think he's a courtesan, being Thranduil's courtesan might give one pause before trying to move in and make a play. So kudos to Elrohir smilie And you are right, Thranduil is not about to hand over his beloved child to someone who would be so crude as to invade a private bath and spy on such personal and intimate activity. but we'llseeif we can redeem the foolish Ranger smilie

MessageWell, having read Chapter 3, I can see where the"Ranger's Folly" comes from in your title. Really, Estel's behavior here is almost as boorish as that of the fellow from Laketown! Right now he would have be at the bottom of any list that Legolas would be compiling of potential suitors, and not even *on* Thranduil's!

But I suspect he'll improve.... smilie

(And this is a nice, light-hearted story for a change, despite the bad news about Dol Guldur!)
