MessageHi there,
Love your site. More so I have loved Xanadu since I was 15 and saw it in Dolby Stereo in Gosford Australia. I have every copy of the DVD
and the original standard def on Itunes. Well low and behold a few weeks ago I noticed that I-Tunes was saying it is now in HD. yay. I didn't have to pay for it again and low and behold it is in HD Hooray. Thank you........
I'm hoping there will be a Blu-Ray as it will still be of a higher definition. For some fun i suggest watching the film without the centre speaker and the words up on screen a brilliant singalong and also to hear the backing mix is rather good.

In more news.

At the Astor in 2K digital format very excititng. They have an amazing screen and High end digital Projector.

Once again, Thankyou for all your hard work on your site it's MAGIC.

Cheers

Brett Ray

MessageThanks ever so much for this site!!

Xanadu was truly a product of its era, but several people are quite correct that despite its sillyness you could never make a movie this earnest; all modern movies need to be snarky to some degree.

What I'm surprised wasn't mentioned was anything detailing the change from the slightly slower tempo version of Suspended in Time shown in "Making Xanadu" to feature both Oliva and Michael inside Xanadu to the animated Olivia solo presentation of the slightly more uptempo version in the finished film.

Also interesting is that the version in the film also varies slightly in orchestration from the version on the soundtrack!

MessageI was 8 when I first saw the movie on cable. It was a love of Olivia Newton John & ELO music that forever infused this movie in my mind. I had a crush on Olivia and would fantasize that I would be an artist someday and meet my own muse like Kira. The animated sequence was one of my favorite parts and still brings chills to me when I watch. Also my favorite is the white outfit Olivia wore with the leg Warmers when she skated. When ever I'm down and stressed out just listening to the music or watching the movie brings back the feelings of euphoria and transports me back to that magic place I love called Xanadu :^)

MessageXanadu rocks! I saw a clip of it in a bar in 1985, and think it's just great! Glad to find other fans on the Internet! Do they have leg warmers for guys?
