| Message | Hi Precious Angel, I wrote a long message and where it went I don't know! As you put it, I'm technologically challenged...some things never change! Eight long years that seem like yesterday! The shock comes back easily and is never far from our minds. As I have said before, missing you is a heartache that never goes away...never.  I imagine what it would be like to hug you, to touch your face, to hear you whistle knowing you always whistled when you were happy. You always showed respect for others; looking back, you remind me of Desiderata...everyone has a story that's important and you understood that. A few years ago, one of my co-workers said one day "Ryan has been gone to Alberta for three years and every week there are people stopping in the doorway or coming in the office asking about him and saying hi." That was a normal thing to us; now I realize how special you truly are. Your friends don't forget; we all keep your memory alive...the fundraiser is an example of how others feel about you, and the scholarships are so rewarding to those lucky students, many who are like you and want to play guitar and whistle; anything musical. Watch over us and keep us all safe, until we get where you are. We love and miss you forever...keep the blue jays coming on special occasions and we know you are around us. | Message | It has been 8 years since your accident and it is hard to believe still. You were a fine young man who touched so many lives. You had a smile that was contagious and a heart that was too big for your body. We had a gathering at your parents house a couple weeks ago and three of your namesakes were there. It was such a joy to watch them play and they are still too young to understand the bond that they share. I hope someday for all 7 to get together and we can share stories of you and let them know how they are connected and how they all share your name. I talk of you often to my Ryan and let him know how special you are. Your pictures are in his room and the blanket your mom made is on his wall. In some ways he reminds me of you and I know we were right in calling him Ryan. I hope when he grows up that he too will make your name proud. I am certain he will because he too has such a big heart. Your mom and dad are so special to us and we are grateful to have gotten to know them so well over the last 6 years. Give your mom a hug today because I am sure she needs it. Take care Ryan and keep on whistling. |

| Message | Ryan, I coached the girls softball team at the high school again this year. So many times I thought of the days when we would go to the bus stop early and throw around the ball. | Message | Hi, I went to a memorial today for a boy I didn't know. He was 18 and his name was Marco. He was a family friend of "sis". Anyways, as I was standing there listening to his eulogy and his friends talk about him I realized how very much you were alike. He was musical, lived life to the fullest, a charmer, his smile lit up the room etc etc...Another tragedy. Another beautiful light extinguised. I was looking at his childhood photos and sitting there was the irish blessing. I couldn't believe it. They are even setting up a scholarship for him just like you. I can honestly say this young man was an exceptional human being and his friends will remember him as yours have remembered you. I am sure the two of you will be fast friends. Sorry for being so scattered but my heart aches for his family and yours. This tragedy certainly brings back November 2003 and the heartache that continues to be felt throughout our lives. | Message | Angel Ryan, Eight years ago today Dad,Melanie and I picked you up at the airport; Uncle Mac, Aunt Lynda and family were with us at the airport to greet you and to welcome your girlfriend Chantelle. I didn't see you come down the escalator, but you saw me looking for you and you got a great kick that I didn't recognize you in your blue print shirt and your hat on backwards...what was I looking for! Not that for sure! But what a beautiful sight when I finally saw you! Today it's easy to relive that day...it's easy to think about the good times and wish to be back there again. The next 13 days are all about your last visit home. Little did we know! There's no question how much we love you and miss you. We never thought you'd be so unlucky and we'd be so robbed!
