| Message | Hello Carbonear from DeFuniak Springs, Florida. My mother (Philomena O'Grady) grew up in Carbonear on Crowdy St. and she worked for the U.S. Army at Ft. Pepperell. Her Dad was Michael O'Grady. He married Ellen Slade (maybe I'm related to Sam Slade) and fished many seasons at Battle Harbour. His Dad was Peter O'Grady. The last name of O'Grady shows up as Grady sometimes. If anyone has any photos of Michael O'Grady working on the drying racks or in the fishing rooms at Battle Harbour, please let me know. These photos would be from the late 1800's and into the 1930's. Thanks a lot. James. |
