MessageHello!

I am a teacher-in-training at a public high school in Canada and I work with 7 lovely Karen girls. Four of them just arrived last month and have very limited English. You're dictionary is a spectacular resource. You should have seen the looks on their faces when they saw Karen up on a PowerPoint slide beside the English! I, and the girls, thank you very much.

Wishing you all the best,

Sutida (May)

MessageI admire this web site, both as a web designer and an ESL teacher. Thanks for putting it together. I have just met some Karen people in Minnesota and I will show them the URL: I think they'll enjoy seeing your site, and hearing me trying to speak a little of their own language. (They will laugh! smilie )

MessageI work with a wonderful Sgaw Karen family who just arrived in Portland, Oregon from Mae La Refugee Camp in July, 2007 -- teaching English, tutoring the children, and being a friend to the family and the small, but growing Burmese refugee population here. They have given so much to me; I am so excited to be able to give back a little of Burma to them through the Karen language stories I can download for them. Thank you, thank you for this wonderful website!

With prayers for a Democratic Burma,

Judy

MessageI work in a public library in a neighborhood where many Karen have been resettled. I have opted to do some graduate research on how to best serve resettled Karen. I am eager to learn from everyone out there and welcome anyone who might have suggestions! This website is really helpful - thanks!

MessageI am pleased to find a guide to spoken Karen. In addition to being an American Baptist pastor, who heard many tales of Burma, and work among the Sgaw Karen as a boy at summer camp in northern Maine, I attend a Seventh-Day Adventist church on Saturday mornings, where there is a large group of Karen refugees. I can't wait to try out some of the phrases!
God bless.
