MessageI am an English teacher in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. One of my students speaks English, but her primary language is Karen.

This website has been an enormous help. She was pleasantly surprised when I said "Good afternoon" to her in Karen.

Thank you so much!

MessageI'm very grateful for this site!
Now I'm able to learn the Karen script and also some phrases so I can talk with my Karen friends!
It's also very good that you can watch news and understand the situation in Burma.

Thank you so much! Keep up the good work! smilie

MessageI live near Karen Refugees from the many camps on the border of Thailand, and I worked with them a lot last summer to teach them English and still a year later we have more and more Karen arrive. I love to help them and this site makes our communiticating so much easier. The Karen are very wonderful and hold a special place in my heart. God Bless you all and the work you are putting into this site. smilie

MessageA very nice web site with a lot of content ! I couldn't agree more with the mission statement and its implicit belief that Karen are Burmese; something which shouldn't in my view prove too controversial as it's an anti-race/anti-stereotype stance, (in law at least) common to a lot of diverse countries. I've recently acquired a dictionary through lulu.com, hoping this will help in getting me beyond the only Karen word I grew up with, ie. Grandmother. smilie

MessageI came across this site from Wikipedia and was amazed at the amount of information available here and accessibility. Thank you. I work with some Karen people in the Andaman Islands, and am also facilitating some small scale projects with them. At our environmental team in the Andamans, the team is predominantly made up of Karen (pah-kh-nyo); though my vocabulary is limited, I found this site useful to improve my communication skills. Will let the community there know about this site. we are trying to get internet communication established in the villages, so they can communicate with their long lost kin across the world. Best wishes & thank you for this- 'Tha-blu ta poh Padu ji'- This is the Andaman Karen version of 'Thank you very much' smilie
