| Message | I have just heard Richard Moore on UNC Public Radio and am pleased to sign this petition calling for an increase in the minimum wage. At my Catholic parish, Immaculate Conception in Durham, we pray each week for a living wage for workers. It is a part of our faith and values to recognize the dignity of work and the just compensation due to workers. Raising the minimum wage is an important step to assuring that working people can meet their basic needs. An important by-product of such a policy is it's fairness to employers who do try to adequately compensate their employees. |
