Messagesmilie I honestly never thought I'd see the day when NC would consider raising the minimum wage faster than the feds. As a social worker whose major clientele is those making minimum wage, I am a strong supporter of such a measure. Raising the minimum wage by $1.00/hr would enable these folks to perhaps not get ahead, but at least they wouldn't be falling behind every month. THANK YOU MR. MOORE! Your piece on The State of Things on NPR was wonderful. I am so glad to see a politician that speaks truth instead of politics.

MessageI cannot tell you how thrilled I am that someone holding public office is taking this issue seriously. It is outrageous that the Federal minimum wage has not increased in nine (9) years. Businesses and others opposed to the increase will use lame excuses not to give employees a fair living wage. The two excuses that I hear most often is that businesses will have to cut jobs and that goods and or services will increase. There have been several studies to show that this way of thinking is not true. But I suppose these people have to come up with reasons why they don't want to raise the wage. If these folks have not noticed goods and services have already increased - should I mention gas as well. A one dollar increase is a good start.
