MessageI am in agreement with the petition. One dollar more is a minimal committment to economic equity and recognizing the value and dignity of all work.

MessageMinimum wage reflects a country's minimum compensation to paid work. It's the bottomline of fairness. Let's keep it up.

MessageI support the move to raise the minimum wage by $1 to $6.15/hour. People who put in an honest day's work ought to be able to survive on what they make in this country. People working minimum wage jobs are generally doing difficult or monotonous work that few want to do. Let's treat them with respect and make it a little easier for them to support themselves and their families by raising the minimum wage.

Messagesmilie Hard working Americans deserve to be able to live comfortably. One Dollar more to the minimum wage is needed for the working poor.

After working a 40 hour week in America it just seems like the ends should at least meet.

MessageAllow people the right to earn a decent wage. How many of you could prosper on $10,172 a year?

MessageIt is ridiculous that people are unable to work and make a living wage. How can we insist that people work if going to work makes them lose any benefits that they have from medicaid or other entitlements, and results in their being evicted, unable to access health care, or to eat. We must pay people a living wage. It improves everyone's lives, as well as the economy.

MessageI was making $5.15 per hour as a high school student almost a decade ago. Even then, that rate of pay was only enough to give me some pocket money. Please raise the minimum wage in North Carolina! It is desperately needed.

MessageI strongly support raising the minimum wage. Today $5.15 can barely buy you a tank of gas let alone support a family.
