| Message | I support the move to raise the minimum wage by $1 to $6.15/hour. People who put in an honest day's work ought to be able to survive on what they make in this country. People working minimum wage jobs are generally doing difficult or monotonous work that few want to do. How can we insist that people work if going to work makes them lose any benefits that they have from medicaid or other entitlements, and results in their being evicted, unable to access health care, or to eat. | Message | I was making $5.15 per hour as a high school student almost a decade ago. Even then, that rate of pay was only enough to give me some pocket money. Please raise the minimum wage in North Carolina! It is desperately needed. |
