MessageHi Jackie.

We have now a private exchange of e-mail to avoid a too big exchange of public and big messages on the guestbook.
This is not the best way to share our questions and answers. We would have to find a more adeguate solution as a "forum" for example.

MessageMy patriarchal grandfather was an orphan, born in 1903 in Torricella. He was given the name Pasquale Pasqualetti at birth. He said his biological father was Giuseppe Piccone (Papanardi), and his mother was Virginia ? (he didn't write his mother's maiden name. At about age two, a woman who nursed him (Angela DiPaolo-1858) took guardianship until he was 16-years-old. Angela was married to Antonio Di Fabrizio (1860). They had one son--Eusebio. My question? Was there ever an orphanage in Torricella in 1903? If not, where might he have been placed? Virginia had Pasquale out-of-wedlock. Would anyone know where I might find a birth or baptism record for Pasquale? Does anyone know of a "Virginia ?",who immigrated to the USA and lived in Philadelphia Pennsylvania,or a Giuseppe Piccone (nick name is Papanardi),who may or may not have immigrated? Any facts about my illegitimate grandfather would be appreciated.

MessageHi,

I am looking to find any relatives of Nicoloantonio D'Amico and Vincenza Ficca. They migrated to the U.S. (Philadelphia) from Torricella Peligna around 1915. They had four children, Rose, Edward, Nicholas, and Linda. My grandfather was Edward. From what I understand, Nicoloantonio came to the U.S. with a brother. I do not know his name. I'd like to learn more about my Italian ancestry. If any one is related or has any information, please feel free to e-mail me [email protected]

Thank you,
Jackie

This May 2011, my cousins and I visited Torricella. We found the people in the town so warm and friendly.
What a thrill to walk the same streets as our grandparents Camillo De Lellis & Maria DiPaolo walked so many years ago.
The beauty of the area was breathtaking, the food delicious.
