| Message | Doug, You forgot to mention that Nell had a false leg and was the love of Sgt(Wee Pal)Ferguson, she was with him at Christmas 1960 when he burnt down his bunk in Corunna Bks when they fell asleep whilst smoking after a night of passion(I was on guard that night). She was the Battalion bike in her younger days and "broke in" many a young Para virgin for the price of a pint. |

| Message | I was in the Havelock the night it closed down.a huge woman with the name of russian Nell used to drink quarts of cider in there.to get to the ladies a key was obtained from behind the bar.Nell got the key,but silly girl she left it in the lock, some bright spark locked it.shortly there was a rattling on the door, there being no response the door came off its hinges into the bar.A few choice expletives followed. But all was well when another quart of cider was produced. ) |
