MessageYes, Jim, that was me in those days - 'Tex' O'Conor! Good to remember some names from back then. I can still picture you as you were, same accent as Rog Chilton wasn't it? We were well off for comedians in B Coy in those great days.
Very sorry to hear about Jimmy Innis - another legend from 6 Platoon.
Best regards

MessageVery sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Innis. Jimmy was a patrol commander with D (Patrol) Company during it's tour in Borneo in 1966.
Jimmys patrol had a problem and I was called up to take over the base radio from the duty operator. I was a member of 216 Para Signal Sqn. and a A1 TG Operator with a morse speed of 25 wpm.
Jimmy was an ex navy radio operator with a very fast morse speed. Major Chiswell and Arthur Watches were standing behind me listening to the exchange of signals.
When the incident was resolved Major Chiswell asked me who was the patrol signaller I was working to. I replied with a smile," I'm not sure Sir"
As they walked away Arthur Watches said to me with a grin,"Bloody liar we know it was Jimmy".
Great times it was a privilege to have known and served with Jimmy. RIP MATE
