MessageFor Pete Iley and anybody else. If you are really worried about your booking contact Dave Dyson or check whether your cheque has been cashed. We have not had tickets for a number of years and it has worked. Even with tickets we would still have required to provide a nominal roll etc to gain entry into the camp.
Also
DON'T FORGET EVERYBODY WILL NEED SOME FORM OF ID
Regards to all

MessageOK for all of you that think we don't think - BASIC - there will a nominal roll produced of all who have booked and their vehicles - if you are on it - you get in, if you ain't, you don't! Don't come in a different vehicle than that which you put on the proforma, unless you inform us first.
Reception will be open at the guardroom of Merville Bks fm 1400.
Those staying at Cherry Tree camp:
On arrival you will be directed to the car park to park up. There will then be transport to take you to Cherry Tree to settle in and bring you back to the Mess fm 1600.
Those staying in hotels etc:
Taxis ARE NOT allowed to go beyond the front gate and private cars are ARE NOT allowed to go beyond the car park. The RSM will try to arrange transport to the Mess itself but cannot guarantee it for everybody - be aware it is a fair old walk - if the weather is inclement you will need a brolly etc!!
There will be military stands laid on by members of the battalion for our interest in and around the Mess(and the PRI will be there).
The AGM is at 1800 after which the reunion proper begins.
So far there are over 150 attending and a number of guests incl the Brigadier,CO,new and old RSMs (recent handover) and all the WOs of the battalion.
Just so you know we haven't had our thumbs up our a---s - all of this was only finalised this very afternoon as the battalion is still arriving back from overseas exercises!!!
More to follow probably next week.
Look forward to seeing you a

MessageTug,

That sounds to me like they want you to have been Security Cleared before attending

The points that you raised 1 - 3 are for the Basic Check (BC) now known as BPSS

Point 4 - The MOD Form 1109 is the Security Questionairre, the one that asks if you have ever been a terrorist...

For an official function that has been squared away that all seems a bit over the top seeing as you are going to be there as a visitor unless you plan on sneaking around the CO's office

The bottom line is, you only need to be Security Cleared if you are going to be working on a MOD establishment in any capacity

I hope that this helps

MessageNot having any comprehensive details from the headshed i went to Merville Barracks yesterday to find out the requirements for entry, believe me it is like nothing we are used to.Cameras everywhere and unless some special arrangements have been made unbeknown to us there could well be some disappointment, the form i was given requires you to have a "sponsor" who has to certify he has carried out the following checks.

1. Verified the applicants identity against Passport/Drivers licence.
2. Verified the applicants current address against 2 utility bills dated within the last 3 months.
3.Conducted a low -level Internet check on the individual.
4.Checked the MOD Form 1109(Whatever that is)

The SSM/GSM then has to approve all the above.

So come on headshed,at least put our minds at rest and let us know if some special arrangement has been put in place to bypass the above,i know you have a lot on your plate and i and the rest of the Club appreciate your hard work on our behalf, but please give us the definitive answer.
