It's a shame about your figures, I'm afraid most of the 60 million you quoted are either retired or still in school. That leaves the figures you have quoted with 46 grand each to pay. It's a shame to see the students having to make their point all around the country today, if the bankers hadn't robbed them, we could have linked them up to Oxford and Cambridge by video link and tought them for nothing. |

Being a lifelong sceptic I have a tendency to take statistics with a pinch of salt! £754 billion divided by the approximate UK population of 60 Million comes to a little over £12,500 each - Alternatively £754 billion divided by your £46k means a smidgeon under 16.4 million people have been "ripped off"! Which, if either, is accurate? Not current taxpayers as there are over 20 million of them and, since all the Government debt will have to be paid off going forward those currently too young to be paying tax now will come on board which, combined with later retirement ages, means even more people will be paying. As regards my initial response (And???), your post opened with an insult to everybody (3 brain cells!) then made a totally unsupported statement quoting spurious figures but gave absolutely no indication as to why you posted it, or what you thought should be done about it or even asked if anyone else had a view.......a bit like sitting in a car with the engine running but not attempting to go anywhere; what's the point? And yes, I did have a little help: it's called engaging brain before opening mouth. I recommend it! |
