MessageSaw your mention of Ray Riggs - trying to track him. Can't believe I was picking with him on Texas Fingerstyle Guitar Pickers awhile back - haven't heard an artist like that since the late Chester Burton, but.. with a marked flavor of jazz and years n years of experience - maybe a lick or two of Andreas Segovia thrown in too? In any case, I had no idea at the time, why he was so much better than me. hah! He explained that he was now an audio engineer in Florida and liked my style. Wow, here's probably the best picker alive saying I don't suk! Now I'm trying to find at least a CD or two by this certainly fine artist, now that I know who I was dualing with! He might be retired from performing, but he can still pick with the best in the world today - no questions asked - and what a super friendly guy too. You just never know who you might be picking with online there at sweet southern sounds.com (all one word) - just click on that "fingerstyle" tab.. Would anyone with information on how to get in touch with Ray please drop me a line? It would sure be greatly appreciated - and please tell him I'm so sorry not to have known who I was picking with that night!(and to let him know he's certainly invited to stop by anytime - bring Dave Woods and Richard Hudson along again too!) What a great site huh? - thanks. smilie

MessageHey, Ron, heard some of your new CD samples at Chuck Norris' studio the other day. Good to hear ya and hear about ya.
There's a lot of guitarists out here that owe a lot of inspiration to you, Les Sneed, Ray Riggs, Dave Prince, all the Nashville cats and Atkins/Reed players that gigged here in Missoula. I've come up with some of my best stuff just trying to emulate you guys, and believe me, I'm passing it on just like you guys, and letting the newer pickers know where I got it.
I haven't done any solo albums or anything, but I have some stuff recorded on promo videos for bands I played with, and some live Boogie Boys, and even you and Ray and Les at the Cabin. Kreg Brager has all the tape archives and is burning some of it to CD to preserve it. Would love to have a reunion party of sorts in Missoula someday, get Jan Dell, and all of us still kickin' and pickin' together. Or even in Alaska! Best wishes on your music and enterprises.
