MessageHi all,

If anyone is looking for a happening Asian club on Friday night (well it's not as crazy as Tokyo clubbing, but it comes close!) --- look no further than Lavish@Watermark, Docklands! The venue's posh and the people are all beautiful and glammed up :P The majority of the clubbin crowd there are in their early 20s, and it is a mix of Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Singaporean, HK, Indonesians etc --- very international crowd. Music played: the latest hip hop and RnB in the main room, techno in the glass room, house in the VIP area. Lavish also caters for birthdays, graduations, parties... any reason to celebrate really!

give me a call at 0412600577 if you are interested in making table bookings for parties/need guestlist entry! thanks! xox kat.

p/s. check out htttp://www.4frontevents.com for more info! --> some parts of this site is still under construction tho!

MessageThis message goes out to the extended japanese community.

I am searching for 2 Austrlian students who are studying Japanese to work at a Japanese ski resort in Hokkaido over the summer break.

The job is working in Furano, at the North Country Inn. The job is general duties including waitering, bussing, kitchen duties; as well as guest services.

Furano is a small Japanese country town, with only a handful of foreigners so this is a unique opportunity to use your Japanese in a friendly, isolated and pristine Hokkaido town.

All accomodation and meals are included. Preferable if applicant is interested in skiing/snowboarding, but not essential.

Please email Lee at [email protected] for more information.

MessageHi there,

My name is Michelle Wong and I am currently doing research under the supervision of Dr. Mark Halsey a Lecturer in the Department of Criminology. This project is part of my Honours course in the Criminology Department at The University of Melbourne.

The aim of this research is to gain a better understanding of the social perceptions of the yakuza gangs from the perspective of those who identify themselves as Japanese or who have strong and ongoing familial and cultural ties with Japanese society.

I am seeking people above the age of 18 who are willing to complete a questionnaire and return it anonymously in a sealed envelope. Completing the questionnaire should take 20-25 minutes and can be done at a time and place of their convenience.

If anyone is interested in participating in my research for my honours course I would really really really appreciate it. You can contact me on my email ([email protected]) or even call me on #0422 350 943.

Thanks,
Michelle smilie

MessageHang on, I do recall getting several emails from the club informing us that Japan Book Plaza was closing down. Just off the top of my head, these were in Week 1 and Week 3 of Semester 1.
