Message | Was stationed at K.I.from Nov.68 to Nov.69 OMS Tanker Branch. I remember hearing we had 268" of snow that winter . Lots of deiceing at preflight & having that anti freeze spray back at you with the wind & getting your parka all full of ethylene glycol. Aside from remembering the cold , l have lots of fond memories & found a life long friend there, Ron Morrell who l keep in touch with. I also served at U-Tapao & Plattsburgh when l separated in 72. |

Message | Air Force Brat. Dad (Jack Magee) was stationed at KI Sawyer from 73-75. I believe he worked on Radar systems on the B-52. Attended Gwinn High School. I worked on the base in a building (custodial) that had a control board with green, red and amber lights, showing status of each area. Only once for a brief period was the board green when I worked there. KI Sawyer was by far the most favorite of all bases we were stationed at. Great people, great friends. I do plan to visit soon. |

Message | One of my best memories is helping you sall smuggle this aircraft out of AMARC. They (USAF) RELUCTANTLY cut the deal to give it to us, and then tried to renege literally as the truck holding the aircraft was pulling out the back gate. Fortunately for us, they had no jurisdiction once the aircraft left AMARC. Red Bulls: 1. Bureaucratic Government: 0. |
