MessageI am enjoying your site. The recipes are terrific. I am planning a "Fat Tuesday on Saturday Party" (who can enjoy a great party and go to work the next day?, thus Saturday), and would love to know what you would suggest as a menu. My group is very willing to try anything and they also like the traditional New Orleans cuisine. I love cooking and sharing my expereinces in the kitchen with friends. We hope to make this party an annual event. Thanks for the help. GM

MessageBecause of work, I am an international road warrior and have been fortunate to sample global cuisine - high-brow to low-brow. The best food anywhere is the cuisine of Louisiana and more specifically, New Orleans! The foods incorporate spices from all over the world with those that are home-grown and then create imaginative dishes that are unique to this area.

MessageI love to cook gumbo, I'm told I make the best for a northerner. I learned to make roux as a gravy as my mother and grandma called it with the fry grains from frying chicken or pork chops. Thanks for your tips.
