MessageHey B, I hope you're doing well. I know this is the anniversary month of Scott's passing and you are feeling it. I haven't been around, I know. I also returned recently from a trip back to Southern California. Had a blast. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I come and visit every time you post, sometimes late but I do make it here. LOL.

MessageI like your artwork a lot. Yes, I looked twice at the "r" but it was readable.

I really appreciate the work you put into your journal, and I don't think they are a vanishing thing on the web. I've come across some that have just started. I still have my blog, although I don't write much. That may be due to Facebook...{sigh}.

MessageStill waiting for winter here in California, too. I'm not going to complain about no rain -- until summer comes and there's no water. My yard guy came by but the grass hasn't grown like it did this time last year.

MessageExcellent read. I just passed this onto a buddy who was doing a little research on that. He just bought me lunch as I found it for him! Therefore let me rephrase: Thank you for lunch!

MessageThe polished granite bench is beautiful. I hope you can work out a way to get that, and to get something out of the black one. I think you'll feel better, in a way.

MessageBonnie, tomato paste is used to thicken red chili. Add one to two tablespoons of paste. If you want to thicken a white chili, add a slurry of one tablespoon of cornstarch to one cup of hot water. Do you make white chili? smilie It's delicious. Use Great Northern White beans, ground turkey or chicken (any "white" meat will do) and use sage, cumin and white pepper as your seasoning. I also add a small can of diced mild green chilis but that's optional of course. I made it a few times over this past winter and it's really delicious.
