MessageNo. I'm not trying to start a conflict here. When the day comes that I experience a different outcome I will gladly admit it. In my business it is all about minimizing risk. Bad things can/will happen in any investment. But the likelyhood varies from investment to investment. I choose to invest my money where the likely outcome is in favor of having as few bad things as possible of happening. This is not a bias opinion but a reactionary opinion. Maybe it's best to look at your fellow Filipinos and hold them accountable for their actions. If I was just unlucky to meet jusy Filipinos that try and cheat me then I believe that would be statistically impossible. The excuse when they had the guts to offer one was "life is tough here" well it only gets tougher as people continue to show the world that it's a bad investment. Money flows where the risk/return offers a competitive advantage. If you take the argument that it's just a few bad filipinos making the greater whole of filipinos look bad then they are doing a great disservice to all other filipinos and themselves as they discourage job growth and investment.

MessageYes. I am married to a filipina. Everyone I have dealt with in the Philippines as far as money is concerned has either tried to cheat me or has cheated me. Considering my own experiences I have never met a filipino that could be trusted. If a foreigner reads this and heeds my warning then they are very intelligent. If they don't then most likely they will live to regret it. If I was telling them to invest their money in the Philippines then they would be ignorant to follow that advice. I'm simply giving them advice and trying to save them the same problems I have had. I did not try and convince anyone to not invest in the Philippines just to invest indirectly not directly. This advice does not benifit me at all and is just free advice for foreigners that they can do with it as they see fit. If anyone is interested they can also invest in the USA in ADR (American Depository Receipts) foreign stocks that trade on the New York Stock Exchange. Examples that are available San Miguel, Ayala Land and Philippine Long Distance Telephone. I have been to Marbel and I'm familiar with Fit Mart, BJ's (I love the food there it just gets a little smokie with the traffic outside) and your town in general I like and would advise any foreign corporation to look at it for themselves and make there own decision. My warning is to the working man that earned and saved his money the old fashion way by working hard and thrift. Just don't want to see them lose their hard earned money.

MessageSorry to hear if you experienced it yourself. Please don't stereotype all Filipino women. smilie

just wondering, are you married to a filipino woman?I just hope you're not trying to create a conflict again here in the guestbook. Not all foreigners are ignorant just to judge the people of Marbel based on what is posted in here.

SubjectWarning to foreigners
MessageWhen you marry a filipina the purpose of the filipina is to take your money and resend it to the Philippines. She may not steal the money but she will convince you to send the money that her family has some good investment all they need is the money. Then you will find that they don't know what they are doing. Filipinos will pretend to know everything when in actuality they know nothing. They are very child like very unintelligent and terrible at money. If you want to invest in Asia pick out a mutual fund domiciled in your home country. If however you still insist investing in Philippines you can invest in mutual funds in Philippines by way of Sun Life Financial sunlife.com which you could easly find in a google search. I still believe that Philippine mutual funds are a bad idea but I throw that out if it's something that you are looking for it's better than trusting an ignorant filipino that pretends to know something. Just think for a minute if filipinos where good at money then why don't they have any. Chinese make up 1.5% of the total population but control 70% of the countries wealth. This should be a good indication that filipinos have no idea about money.

SubjectWarning to foreigners
MessageDon't trust Filipinos with your money. They can't be trusted with anything. They will lie and steal everything and then blame you for why they did it. Heed my warning. Just look at what they say on their website. It speaks volumes about who they are. smilie
