MessageWell done to the 1st XI on Saturday - an important win. It was also very good to see other people stepping up and performing. There is now plenty of players who can win a game for us, rather than just 2 or 3. Gary Newall and Ross Acton's batting was superb and Joel Murphy is coming into form with the ball just at the right time. With all this, plus Chappell hopefully continuing his good season and Richard Foan due a big innings or 2, we should have a strong finish to the season.

Well done to the 1st XI and the club for a successful weekend.

Onwards and upwards!

MessageBatting at Premier level is tough, very few bad balls. Together with testing conditions makes it even more difficult to do what would often be expected to be easy.

The learning curve that the youngsters in the first team have been through is setting them in good stead for the future and we need the determination to take every point available. Less experienced players may have sacrificed the draw for a loss on Saturday and the points differential that goes with it!

I'll be away for the next three games, but there in spirit. Those games will go a long way to determining the destiny of one or two sides this season, but they will not determine the final destiny of any of them. So keep striving for every point, enjoy the battle and teamwork, and keep believing in your abilities and surprise a few sceptics out there!

See you boys when I'm back and good luck.

MessageSeems to me that other teams batters seem to be fairing better.......... Excuses have to stop somewhere. Or they could all move to Aus and play on some fast bouncy ones! smilie On a serious note though with a bit of application i think we'll do better and a win Saturday should give us the confidence to stay up..... come on lads lets be positive and give Torquay a Bradninch beating!!!!

MessageConditions for batsmen this season are as difficult as last year - heavy midweek rain, damp Friday's and Saturday's - you have to feel for the batters. This past weekend was a lottery for ALL cricket XI's with, in many case, the toss determining the outcome of matches across the Division's - the battle is now on and it makes for an exciting run in to the end of the campaign - bring it on, come on lads.(That to BOTH Saturday XI's of course!).

MessageGreat bowling from the captain - and the rest of the BCC bowlers. It would appear, however, that it is regularly your batting that it letting you down. Any thoughts on that anyone?

MessageIt would good to see the 1st XI averages - but only after Plymouth! The whole of Harare (Salisbury, Rhodesia)wish the Bradninch team the very best of luck on Saturday. Mamamba knows you can do it!
