MessageHi from sunny Florida USA. I really have enjoyed your web-site. I have Clydesdale Mare, "Mariah" who is still very green under saddle. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions about diet for her. The climate in Florida is very hot and either very wet or very dry depending on the season. I have several problems with cracked hooves and abscesses. I've just switched her feed to more digestable carb, low protein and am hoping to see some results. Any thoughts?

Thanks again! You have some beautiful horses!

MessageHi! I ride a 17.2 Grey Clydesdale gelding down here in SW England. Yes, they do go faster than a walk, and boy cant you every hear them coming in canter smilie Their trot is the most beautiful of any horses gait.

My boy is an absolute dream to ride, safe for anyone, he is so intelligent and willing to please. He is my first horse, and when the time comes (which I hope is along way off!) i will only ever buy another Clydesdale. He is the best behaved horse in the yard, everyone loves him, fantastic with kids, other animals and will do anything for anyone holding a marmite covered carrot!!

I think this website really does the breed proud, how could anyone not want one after seeing those pictures of the most beautiful horses in the world (in my opinion smilie )

MessageFrom New Bern, NC. The Budweiser Clydesdales were at the air show in Havelock this weekend, and I wanted to see them - such beautiful animals. Unfortunately, I can't go. So, I'm "stealing" pictures to satisfy my longing for these beautiful horses. Thanks for raising such wonderful animals.

MessageHello, nice site, I was doing random google searches when I found it. I've noticed that on all the photographs all the ridden clydesdales seem to be walking, can they go any faster than that? I apologize if the question seems foolish, but the stables I take lessons at in California has no draft horses, and the people made it seem like they can only walk and carry things.

MessageHello,
Love your site! I love Clydes and Scotland (Dad's parents and sister born in Scotland. Still have relatives in Glasgow, Dumphrees and probably Falkirk). I have a 4 year old mare Clyde that I have been pleasure riding for a year. Got her at 3yrs and she was green broke to drive but had never been saddled. She has always tripped or stumbled at times. This December at a gallop she tripped and we both went down hard. No injury to her,I broke 3 ribs. Vet, ferrier, trainer have looked her over and are not sure why she trips. Possible tender foot due to thin sole and maybe she pulled up from hitting a rock??, so we are shoeing to correct this symptom. I am still riding her but only walking. Any ideas? I really want to keep training her but very concerned about the tripping.
Love all the pictures especially the line of show paticipants under saddle. Can you email me one?
Also any information on cross breeding (Thoroughbreds, ?) Clydes for sport horses? Thinking about breeding her this spring.
