MessageHello everyone. My great-grandfather was "Uncle Dick" Wootton. My line of the family comes from the last wife, Maria Pauline Lujan. My mother, Pauline, was named after her. My grandfather was John P. Wootton. We are from the area in northern New Mexico around Las Vegas, N.M., Mora, and Cleveland, N.M. Let me know if you have any genealogy that you can share.

MessageIn Trinidad CO there is a building called Fort Wootton Memorial Square. It was never a fort, but a Veterans Memorial from 1937 to 1942. Presently it houses Social Services for the city. The information I have learned regarding the naming of it was either named for Uncle Dick Wootton or a son of his who was a CO representative. Do you know anything about the naming of this building?

Message"Uncle Dick" Wootton was my great, great grandfather. His son John married Elizabeth Fuss. One of their daughters, Dorothy Marguerite Wootton Archuleta, was my grandmother. Since he had 4 wives, I'm not sure to which line my family belongs. It would be nice to get in touch with other relatives.

MessageMike, Thanks for the link to your photos. Those are some nice shots, and you have a beautiful family. Have fun and keep shootin. Heck, we may even run into each other sometime. I live in St. Louis, but try to get away to the Ozark or Quachita Mountains whenever I can. Be well!

Craig
