| Message | Hello all, Like some of the others I came across your web site while searching my last name. Our family is mostly in northwest Missouri although some have moved around the country. I don't know much history about our ancestors, but I do know that my great, great grandfather came to the area on an orphan train in the 1800's. His name was David Wooten. I am not sure how many children he had but my father was the oldest of 6 and I am the youngest of 8. So there are several of us out there. Memphis was one of my favorite places to work when I was with the Illinois Central railroad. I hope to make it back that way someday. I look forward to ckecking back here soon. |

My family and I just moved to Colorado in June and plan on driving down to Raton and checking things out. | Message | Looking for my father's birth father. His name was either Robert Wooten or Dewayne Wooten. My dad was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 27, 1945. Wooten at the time was in the military I believe at Fort Benning in Georgia. My dad's mother's name was Annabelle Book - she later married Harry Sweitzer & my dad was adopted by him. I'm trying to help him locate his father so any help would be great! thank you!! |
