MessageA very comprehensive site showing how Cork people contributed to the defeat of the British Empire. Unwilling subjects of the British Crown all over the world looked on in admiration - and then followed suit in their own way.

Well done on all the research. Keep it up

MessageI was pleased to find the list of books on this subject. I have been reading about this portion of Irish history now for over two years and am always searching for material I have not read. I am wondering...what is taught in the schools about this and what are the views of the average citizen concerning the War for Independence?

MessageThe casualty figures for Clonbanin are correct. The Kilmichael account is a true reflection of the facts.

MessageI would question some of the casualty figures given on the site (i.e. British losses at Clonbanin). Also the report on the Kilmichael ambush appears biased towards the republican viewpoint.

MessageWhere did this amazing site come out of. Who did all this research. I guess it just shows how much this heroic chapter of Irelands history has been brushed under the carpet that there are no good sites out there to honour these heroes and that the only one that does is hard to find.

Great job. Keep it up.

MessageSuperb site - these people deserve to be honoured. Unfortunately this will never happen in their home city of Cork where there appears to be a deliberate policy of ignoring the deeds of these brave men. How conveniently things are forgotten in the era of the 'Celtic Tiger'.
