MessageGlad that Ben Clingham recognises that Ireland is one country. Shows that the old Dissenter Republican heritage is alive and well.

MessageReally enjoy you site. Trying to find out more about my family past. Couldn't find anything on my family here yet, but plenty about the blood in my veins. Original spelling of my name is, O'Duinnin then to O'Dinneen before finishing with Deneen now.

MessageHas anybody any information on the Denis Doolan who was involved in the Upton Ambush in 1921. My grandfather was a Denis Doolan from Kerry who I know was involved in the republican movement but I don't know if it was him at Upton.

MessageAlderman Tadgh Barry, C company 1st Brigade, shot dead in Ballykinlar Camp November 1921 is not mentioned on the list of 1st Cork Brigade,he was my great uncle and I have a photo of him if that is the only reason he doesn't merit a mention. He is buried in the Republican Plot in St Finbars cemetary. He was a founder member of the Labour Party in Cork.

MessageWent home to Lisburn in July/August and my 98 yo Mum was recapping some of the stories of the troubles in Lisburn. She told of the killing of Insp Swanzy and also the repercussions that followed for Catholics in and around the town. Presbytery burnt down and parishioners hounded out of town??? Is there any authentic recount of the events.
