| Message | I grew up in this town along with my mother,aunts,uncles and grandparents(Johnson's) that worked at the mill. it is very sad to see it now although when i ws growing up i thought i would never say that but you know how kids are lol. living the way we did made me a stronger person and a grateful one....thanks for this web site  |

| Message | I remeber sooo much about this place as a young girl!I guess one of the best is when ever my grandfather Enoch Lee Abernethy would drive down the hill with the big curves ahead their was so much antisapatiion to get to the bridge saftely it was so unreal.You see my Grandpa aka known as the Mayor of Henery River Hill lived on the other side of the bridge,and it seemed every truck had no brakes to slow down to go down the hill to the bridge!My goodness I feel as though I am in that truck with him now God reat his soul!There are so many more things to share of this place, I use to think that if there were a Heaven on earth it was at the splender going down that hill in the spring and summer time at the most beautiful blooms and buds of so many different trees,flowers, plants and smell of Gods beauty which he had shared with me to see, there is so much more I hope to add more memories latter God Bless this old place and all who share in its wounders! | Message | My husband and I recently were in Charlotte on business. Being from Ohio, we love to drive along country sides. We just happened to discover this commnunity and with much searching thanks to the internet we discovered the history of Henry River. I hope the state of NC realizes that it could be a diamond in the ruff. |

| Message | I am the great grand daughter of David William Aderholdt, one of the builders of Henry River Mill. I am researching for my own book right now. Would love to share some of my mother's memories of spending time there as a child. Her mother was Frances Margaret Aderholdt and was born on the main house on the mill property in 1904. I love you site here. Thanks for all this wonderful history. |

| Message | My grandparents, Marie and Craig Lynn lived in Henry River for many years where they raised my dad and his brothers and sister (Tony, Scottie, Mickey Joe and Gary). I LOVE this website. How wonderful!!! |

| Message | My grandparents lived in the mill village and raised five children. (around 1920) My father was the youngest child and lives across the bridge on a plot of land that his father gave him around the 1960's. I have several photos of my grandparents in the mill village. They met in the village as teenagers and fell in love. I have always been sentimental about the village and hate to see it fade away. I was so glad that I found this website. |
