| Message | We live in Morganton and I have been to Henry River village several times to take pictures. Went today again (April 9). More photographs. Lots of people visiting there today as well. My interest is not because of The Hunger Games, but Burke County History. |

| Message | My mother, Thirsie Yoder used to walk from Advance Crossroads to work at Henry River Manufacturing Company on second shift in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Some of her older children would walk to the mill at quitting time to walk her home so she wouldn't be alone in the dark. Someone at the mill carved horses and sent one home with my mom for my little brother who was sick. I'd like to know who that was. I used to visit Nellie Leverts (I don't know if I'm spelling that correctly) with my older sister. Nellie, her husband and their son lived a couple houses uphill from the company store across the street. She was a very beautiful lady and was also a good cook. |

| Message | I hate to see us lose your input but I wonder if simply publishing articles with no comments enabled and having a members-only forum wouldn't be a good compromise. There's something about the immediacy of the response form and the lack of accountability available from anonymity (oh, hypocritical me) that seems to encourage people's awfulness. |

| Message | Was born in house #6 and last lived in #13 at about age 5-6. Have many great memories of Henry River and hate to see what it has become. Loved the families and, yes, we knew each of them by name (even if I couldn't play with all of them). Would love to hear from others of that era (1942) Live nearby now. |

| Message | I do think that by working in a team, it will make it easier for you. The passion moves away from you and to the team of writers, the hate will move with it. Being a part of a groupblog would be a good solution. |
