MessageSteve,

Nice to hear others are using Bluetunes in creative ways.

As far as the blank white screen issue - have you tried to reboot the PC? I have seen issues with registering the custom font used for Bluetunes. A reboot should fix this problem.

The BT stack is an ongoing issue that is driving me crazy! The Wiimote does not use a standardized bluetooth communication protocol; so consequently, some BT stacks work and others do not with no particular reasoning. Even when other bluetooth devices are working just fine, the wiimote will still complain at times.

The PC that is working - did you install the bluetooth yourself, or did the PC come with bluetooth already istalled? And the same for the non-working PCs? If you are using an external bluetooth dongle, is it the same type on all PCs?

I am quickly sending this out just so you know I am willing to help, but let me continue thinking about this. There has to be some difference in the bluetooth stacks between those PCs.

regards
-Mike Anderson

MessageI'm an elementary school English teacher in Taiwan. I do appreciate your contribution to this software. I believe I can take advantage of it in my teaching with kids on an interactive basis. My idea is to use the pre-edited conversation mp3 which will be native speaker voices. I will use wiimote to control and come out the voice from the player instead of my own voices. It works great.
However, I have faced a problem of unable to install this application onto other computers.
The one I am currently using is perfect, but not with my other two computers. They all have the same problem of a blank window after I start BlueTunes and the message," Error reading data from Wiimote...is it connected?....".
I have ruled out the wrong BT stack issue because it worked out on one of my three computers. Plus I have tried other OK-stacks but came out with the same blank. I wonder if the same problem ever occurred to others. The following PCs all have .net framework 2.0.

PC1, which is working great,XP Media Center Edition, v2002, sp3.

PC2, which is not working,XP Professional Edition, v2002, sp3.

PC3, which is not working,XP Home Edition, v2002, sp3.

In this new year holiday season, I with you guys a smooth new year and appreciate your guidance.

MessageRebekah,

This also happened to BlueTunes when I tested it with vista. Give these a try:

1) Right click on the BlueTunes window and select the option "Enable Media Player Volume". There should now be a check mark next to it. This will only work for these players: iTunes, Winamp, WindowsMediaPlayer, Media Player Classic, Yahoo!, and GOM Player.

2) Also, try the Vista version of BlueTunes.

Let me know the outcome...

MessageHi,

First, thanks for the app. I have BlueTunes installed on Windows 7. My Wiimote is recognized but when I hit the up key to adjust the volume the program throws an error and has to close.

Got any suggestions? Or a fix?

Thanks again,
Rebakh

MessageChris,

Can't install WMC on the current version of XP that I have and do not have Vista or 7.

Have been thinking about the generic keymap for quite some time, but no promises.

MessageRE: Windows Media Center (Vista)
This would need to support only the up/down/left/right arrows and the backspace key for 95% of its functions. Another key perhaps for the 'windows' key to go back to the main menu. Have you looked into supporting WMC? I would love this.

Right now, I use the BlueTunes settings for Windows media player and set the mouse control. This is only OK, though, as it is still REALLY hard to control the thumbnail strip with a mouse. Need arrow controls.

If not a specific support for Media Center, how about a 'generic' option and the ability to set the Wii Remote buttons to keys on the keyboard. A generic keymap perhaps?

Appreciate your efforts here. Thank you.

MessageI recently purchased the IPOD touch and love connecting it to my t.v. to watch videos. However, I hate getting of the couch to skip to the next video. Is there anyway you could create a remote for my IPOD touch. I'm an extremely obese and a remote would really make my couch whale existence alot nicer.

MessagePascal,

Could you elaborate more on the Playlist feature - not exactly sure what you are requesting. I am assuming you mean for iTunes?

For iTunes there is a feature "Add to BlueTunes Favorites" that is by default assigned to the Home button. When pressed - whatever song that is currently playing will be added to a iTunes playlist named "BlueTunes Favorites"

MessageHi,

a Playlist feature would be cool. If you want to get more feedback, mark the corresponding line in red on the homepage smilie
