MessageDear Nick-

I've been following your path in my mind since you walked out of here into the breaking day. I feel so fortunate to have had a chance to meet you.

Here's hoping the Wild West treats you right and that you blessed by pleasant encounters, stunning sunsets and decent shoulder conditions for unobstructed boarding as you trek across the desert.

I know this particular leg of the trip was somewhat dreaded, but I think that you'll find there is something reverent about being out there in that wide open space, the simplicity of the naked brown earth and the sky that sometimes looms so large it threatens to swallow you whole. It's a landscape that doesn't tolerate a cluttered mind.

Have you read any Edward Abbey? His writing really captures the grotesque, the seductive ethos of the American Southwest...

I eagerly await your next post and your safe return to "civilization".

Cheers,
Candace
