| Message | I just saw The Fountain in HD and was wondering if when you were making it, you had hi-def in mind. It's one of the few films I've seen where the detail and quality of the imagery forms such a crucial part of the movie. Many of the scenes are meaningless (or at least suffer significantly) unless you can see and appreciate the detail of the shot. This is a wonderful and beautiful story. Thank you for the time and effort you put into creating it. I will watch this again and again through the years, as I enjoyed it a lot. |

| Message | The truth is something that cannot be expressed through words, but has to be experienced. Your movies express the truth in the most simplified and universal form, and give the spectator an experience that acts as a springboard to the realization of the truth about existence. I thank you, Darren, for being such a filmaker visionary that guides people towards the truth, which seems to be so lost in this culture of addictions and separateness. I will keep on recommending the Fountain to people, as I by the way did on our (high school) epistemology class a couple of weeks ago. :) And you never give up on the truth and spreading it, because it is what you and we all are. I teach a Humanities class at East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Illinois, and my students, after a unit on Hinduism and Buddhism, watched The Fountain. They were so smitten with it and the ideas you grapple with that they wrote you a letter about what it all means. They have some ideas and are looking for some feedback. Is there some place I can send said letter that they might receive a reply from? They spent a lot of time talking, thinking, and writing about the movie, and a response from the man himself would really mean a lot to them. | Message | Darren Aronofsky, I'm a writer too and i hope a director in a few years. I'm finishing my second short movie and i have three long movies in the head. So yours are a very big inspiration for me because they always talk about universality and our place in this unlimited universe. But sometimes, in front of your original point of view and way you use to show it, i feel the task will not be easy. But i know nothing is impossible and i try now to mix my influences with my own story (certainly like you do it). Consequently, the result is very personals subjects showed with the most universal point of view. It's an amazing experience ! One of my many wishes is to work with you one day in the future.
