MessageHi, I'm looking for photographs of my great-grandfather's home before it was torn down, so I can make a painting for my mother. My great-grandpa was roland balsom and he lived in the house on Balsom's point before it was torn down for the new irving oil house (my facts on whose it is might be wrong, but it's a pretty big house, so people might know of it.) If ayone has any photos of the old house I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Messagevisited this summer... stayed in Port Blandford and went to Clarenville during a rainy day. very disappointing, not family oriented area. bowling alley closed over summer, no movie matinees for kids: asked shop owner what was here to do and she couldn't think of anything for children. very disappointed, would not recommend to families for vacation. no minature golf, no indoor swimming pools. no nothing. for an "up and coming area" nothing for families on vacation. Big growth but put out a small bang. would not give 1 star for Clarenville for vacationeers.

MessageVisiting the area for the summer.. We had a small mishap at the cottage, we had it covered with our meager first aid box. However, we found ourselves asking how do we obtain emergency service? I have the number for the fire department. But if we were to need an ambulance, who do we call? I haven't seen any around, and I can't find any telephone numbers. smilie

MessageMy family moved from Ontario to Clarenville in 1973. I attended Clarenville Junior High for 5 and 1/2 months until my family returned to Ontario. I returned in the summer of 1976 to visit friends I made as well as had visit from them to my home! Very fond memories! smilie
