| Message | I was in Navy 1965 to 1968 in VS-27. We had S-2E's. I was a ADJ-3. I was on board for many cruises. I mostly worked the flight deck. I do remember the smokers and their was mess deck cook who was very good. His name was Harvey. He was assigned from our squadron to mess deck cook. I remember many cruises, to the Med, Bermuda, Spain, Italy, etc. The Randolph was out of Norfolk, usually docked either at pier 7 or pier 12. When on shore our squadron stayed on the Air Station Hangar LP-13. Two of our squadron aircraft had a mid air crash, all 4 crew members died. The four pilots names were LtCDR Potter, Lt Cotignolga, LtCMDR Archambault, can't remember the fourth one. I remember many things that happened on the Randolph. I was a Kitty Cruiser, in before 18 and out before 21. I returned to Ft Lauderdale after the Navy. The Navy paid for my GI Bill to go to college. I worked for Eastern Airlines, National Airlines, Pan American World Airways, and Delta Airlines. I retired form Delta Airlines as Captain. I have flown B-727, L-1011, MD-88, B-747, B-767. I guess the Navy helped me get my start in life and the Randolph was a part of it. Thanks to the Rando-Cando attitude.
