MessageI'm only 22 years old and have been raised a Yankee fan and brought up my entire life on Yankee history. I was born 8 years and 1 day after Thurman lost his life tragically on Aug 2, 1979. I never had the opportunity to watch him play but I really wish I had. Even though I never got a chance to watch him play, he remains my favorite Yankee. I proposed to my fiance at his restaurant built by his son in his memory. So am I a little bias? Yes, but with bias aside, he deserves to be in. His stats don't lie. We cannot punish his name and his legacy in Major League Baseball because he was taken so young. If he would have played another ten years, could his stats have went down? Yes, but they could have also went up too. We need to judge Thurman on what he did when he was with us and there is no denying, when he was with us, he was the best defensively and offensively catcher in the league. So thank you Thurman and God bless. I know that one day, he will be in the HOF.

MessageThurman was my hero and greatly affected me in the way I played sports and live my life. He was a "gamer" and I am grateful we have video to remember how he played the game, often in pain!

I believe he has the #'s but he had more! He was the leader and heart and soul of the Yankees. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame... It would be a refreshing change to see those who vote take "intangibles" into consideration.

I was a 10 year old Little Leaguer on deck when the announcer of our game announced that Thurman Munson was dead. It was my first dealing with death and I just wanted to collapse and cry... I slammed my bat into the dirt, took some deep breaths and realized that Munson wouldn't have run... I took some swings and got up to bat. I don't remember what my result was but I know I took my cuts, just like Thurman did...

MessageOnly 14 when Thurman died- 44 now and still affected by it. One of the saddest days in my life and of most Yankee fans of similar age. Great book by Marty Appel that I just finished and that helps to bring back not just Thurmans memory but also of those great 1976-1978 teams that we grew up with. Would have been great to see Thurman over the years at Old Timers Day and at autograph shows etc. Oh well. It wasn't meant to be but we will never forget him or his clutch hitting.

MessageHe is and always will be my hero! To not have him in the Hall of Fame is a dishonor to him and all he stood for.

MessageThurman was my hero as a child. Why he isn't in the hall of fame is beyond comprehension. What is wrong with the committee?

MessageThurman should most definitely be in the Hall of Fame. I grew up watching Thurman (one of my favorite Yankees) in the mid 70's. Vote Munson in!
