MessageB-Free,
From the day I 1st met you, there was something special about you and in you. I look at you and realize how special a MAN you were for 28 very short years. No one Bruh that I've known since pledging ET has had the impact you have had on this chapter.

"He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother: Brother Freeman Montaque, Jr."

Our Family trees are not the same, we both have a different mother and yet I'd proudly tell the world that this man is my Brother...Spectators stand and look with awe as we do our secret shake, never realizing that this clasping of hands does not a Brother make.

We are Brothers in a deeper sense than they can comprehend, For when our bond has just begun, theirs are about to end. When we were searching for the light, as all SPHINXMEN must do, They stood aside and laughed out loud, "I wouldn't do that! Would You?"... I know the decision I made was wise, of this I'm sure and have no doubt, each day in my life will have blue skies, for I'm an Alpha from here on out... And never again will I be lonely for I have Brothers everywhere, in cities of population two, I even have a Brother there...When asked, "Why weigh yourself down with the load of another?" I simply smile at them and say, "He ain't heavy...he's my Brother!"

Free, this poem reminds me of you and your Alpha Spirit.

Rest in peace, now that your last race is run. Heaven is a better place for a job well done.

I Love You Brother,
Kline

MessageI am happy that B. Free is in a better place. No more suffering, no more sadness. Like we say from New Orleans-wear white and have a party. I will always remember him.

MessageB. Free,
Where ever you are you are truly missed brother. I would gladly call you Brother because you have been nothing less then that to me, Hell, You gave me the name Show Tyme(loL). I know in my heart you are looking down on us and hopefully you are proud of what you help build, not just the chapter, but the character of great individuals. You will forever live though us when ever we gather and talk about the E.T. Legend The Great Byron Freeman!!!

MessageI will never forget Byron's smile, incredible sense of humor, and the mischief that always seemed present behind his eyes. His most enduring quality; however, was mentorship. I've attended numerous informationals at Bowling Green where brothers (and individuals who never became members) said Byron helped and guided them from the moment they first walked onto the campus. The throngs present at his homegoing celebration were there because as Brother Stan Jackson put it, "he touched their lives." How blessed we are he touched us for a moment.

MessageI just want to say it was an honor and a prilviledge to have known Byron "free". When I got to BG, he was the one brother to reminded me of what the true spirit of Fraternity was. He did all he could to help his brothers and his chapter. I hope one day I WILL get the chance to grip him again in paradise........fraternally

MessageBryon will be missed by everyone who knew him well, and even those whol got to know a small part of him. I experienced nothing but kindness and a genuinely cool guy when I met him, and that is what I will always remember. May God continue to comfort and watch over all of his loved ones and friends.

MessageDear B-Free,
There aren’t enough words to express my deepest sentiment for you; but I would be regretful if I do not attempt to convey my feelings. From the day I met you at Southern University in 1998, I was moved by your Spirit. You gave me insight and inspiration to pursue Alpha. When you returned to your beloved Bowling Green, we kept in contact and you have been one of the most inspirational persons in my life. You embody the true Spirit and meaning of our dear fraternity. After getting my masters, you and I were planning on pursuing our doctorates together; you value education, as an Alpha should. You are a vital part of my life as an Alpha, and through the frat, our friendship has evolved. Because our paths are different, we hardly physically see each other, but in Spirit, you are always near. When I told you I was coming to OSU to pursue my doctorate, you worked diligently in trying to connect me with people, which is only one example of the kind of Brother that you are. I am eternally grateful to God for allowing me to cross your path and be apart of your Great Life. Your illness did not alter your Soul or your Spirit: You are a fighter. If I can be half the person that you are, then I’ll be grateful. Know that you have impacted my life deeply. I am forever your Brother and I will see you on the other side, so save room for your 4 Club. Also greet and grip the Jewels on my behalf. Love you. ‘06

Fraternally yours,

MessageB. Free, was good baby? I guess the Lord felt it was finally time to relieve you of your burden here on earth. I just want to say that you are one admirable fella fam, got LOTS of love for you. You always looked out for anybody you ever knew or came in contact with for whatever reason, just had a real geniune love and respect for your people and your culture. It was kinda hard seeing you have to go through that struggle keepin' it all the way trill, but I must say that you stayed strong all the way through til the end. It's crazy, just thinking about all the times you looked out for me personally, just on some g - sh.. up in Fairview, be it with the keyboard trying to help a n!gg@ on the music side, or just shootin' ya boy a couple vittles during those treacherous summers in tha BG! Gotta lot of memories...I still ain't forgot that time you had me flying off the back of the Saturn that time you was dropping me, Nick and Derrick off from the Old Alpha!!! LOL Had me looking like a big azz tumbleweed!! It's all love though. Its just good to see that you are finally at rest. You'll never be forgotten fam. Much Love, Ya boi i.K.e Hu$tle

MessageI can remember meeting "B-Free" like it was yesterday. It was the charm, the smooth charisma, the personality, the ability to conquer life. Boy are we blessed to have had someone with such a fine spirit as "B" to grace this earth. Only now do I understand the meaning of GOD needing you. For your pupose here with us, has been done, and there are people somewhere that have been long awaiting your arrival. B- is FREE and will forever remain in our hearts......
