MessageI didnt know Byron very well, but every time I seen him he was always smiling or happy never sad. I always wondered how a man suffering so bad could be so happy but he had nothing to complain about because he was alive. After learning more about him I realize he had a very big heart and that passion and drive he had will live on in light of his legacy.

MessageHe always stressed humility and how important it was to respect every human being regardless of their socio-economic status. Coming from Africa; I was by myself for most of the time until I met Byron and he instantly took the role of my big brother and made sure he guided my every move and he showed me unconditional love. For this I have a tattoo of his name to my right upper arm that reads "FREE AT LAST" and a poem for him I wrote, it reads...
Free AT LAsT (Written 4/14/06 @ 5:57AM)
Many ways could never explain why you left-
Many hours I simply sit and wonder how you went-
Praying you truly went peacefully I shed a tear-
Realizing you are no-longer here, I shut my eyes in fear- I can't be selfish and be mad at you for leaving-I can only respect you like I always did; scheming-scheming on how to accomplish your dream-
Free you know I'm African and where I'm from success is the only option, failure is unacceptable-So you already know you will never be forgetten for I'm planning something special in your name when I am financial stable-Byron, remembering you tell me 5 days before you past away that you wouldn't give up makes me weep-
But then again you are at a better place but the pain I feel hurts like a knife to the chest and it cut real deep-Rest in peace big brother...Rest in Peace Free, for you are now "FREE AT LAST.
