MessageI am trying to retrace my family but hit a road block. My Father, Ugo Ficca, was born in Torricella Peligna in the Province of Chieti on 13 Dec 1928. He was the son of Marianno Ficca & Felicia Rossi. He had two brothers, Nicola and Camillo. My Uncle Nick came to the US but my Uncle Camillo died during WWII and we never met him and do not have any pictures. I am having great difficulty finding the history of my Grandmother, Felicia Rossi. If any one can help, I would thankful for any help.

Thanks, Felicia

MessageMy wife and I will be visiting Torricella Peligna at the end of September this year 2017. My grandfather, Nicholas Ficca was born there in September of 1884. My great grandfather Camillo Ficca was born there in 1852. I am sure I have some relatives there but that is hard to know for sure. It will be a short stay as we are ending our 3 week stay in Italy with this trip to Torricella.
If someone reads this with advise on what to do there please feel free to reply to my email. smilie

MessageHi TP'ers,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for continuing to maintain this website. Our whole family THANKS YOU. My brother, Al Porreca, loved creating you and felt your warmth as he continued its development. As I still scroll thru its pages, I recall his thoughts and happiness of his successes, ie, learning Italian, posting pictures, receiving/responding to your comments and emails from family and friends, etc.
Please keep it alive smilie
Grazi, Bill Porreca smilie

MessagePam and I are looking forward to spending time with our cousins (Giovanna and Marziale DiMarino) in Torricella in September. Hopefully, our other cousin, Julian, will be able to join us for the trip when we get to Positano the week before. It's always wonderful to be with family and enjoy the people of Torricella.
Ciao,
Bill D

MessageHello! We've recently returned from a WONDERFUL visit to Italy (May 2015). My mother left Torricella at age 13 for America, just after WWII, and this was her ONLY trip back. We cannot say enough about how warm and welcoming the people of Torricella are!

The area is visually STUNNING with breathtaking views literally everywhere. In addition, the ride to Torricella through the Abruzzo region is also just spectacular.

It was incredible - and very emotional - for our mother to sit in the pews of San Giacomo Church and to walk La Piazetta once again(along Corso Umberto)after 69 years. For my family to see her in her hometown, and envision her there as a child along with our grandparents, was deeply moving as well.

This website was EXTREMELY helpful in planning our trip, and I wanted to express my deepest thanks to ALL who've put such dedicated time and effort into it's creation and maintenance.

For us, this was once-in-a-lifetime experience to share with our mom, and we will never forget a moment of it!!

Grazie once again, and safe travels to all who are so blessed as to visit this magnificent town!!

Ciao!

MessageSalve!
Her mother died given her birth and her father died when she was 7, around 1889. Se qualcuno ha info. ringrazio anticipatimente.

MessageMy great-grandfather, Antonio Porreca was married to Rosa Palizzi. They immigrated to the USA in the early 1890's I believe. I will be in Italy December of this year, and would be thrilled if I could find someone who knew my great-grandparents. Please feel free to email me. Thank you!
