MessageI'm just dropping by again to check out the messages you have received. I am enjoying your website. You have done a good job. I just want to correct a mistake I made in my first message on 9/2/05. Tucker Atkins is William T.Reese,II's great-grandson who never was able to hear my Daddy's stories. Of course it was not his sisters who knew my Daddy, it was his Mom and Aunts. Also, our family email is in the name of my daughter Danielle Crowe who remembers my Daddy, but I am the one who sent the messages. I hope to hear from some of Daddy's crewmates. I will be keeping up with your progress. Thanks again!!!

MessageThank you so much for the wonderful website! I am Donald Spangler's great-niece and have heard many stories about Donald from my grandfather, Walt Spangler, Donald Spangler's brother. My grandfather would be very happy to know that a website has been put up in memory of the Spangler. He was very proud of Donald and the country Donald served. Thank you all for your service and love for your country and it's people! We owe you all an infinite amount of gratitude.

MessageI am the niece of Donald Spangler for whom the USS Spangler was named. I was thrilled to get this information from my brother and will share this with my children. How fascinating to learn more about the ship and those who served on her. Thank you to whomever put this together.
God Bless America!
Sincerely,
Jeannie Spangler Kesler

MessageGreetings! I am Donald H. Spangler's nephew. I enjoyed reading the history of the ship that was named after my uncle. I forwarded the e-mail you sent me on to my uncle, Robert K. Spangler. He is Donald's younger brother. I'm sure that he will enjoy your website very much. My father, Walter B. Spangler, was Donald's older brother. Dad passed away in November 2002.

Regards,

Jeff Spangler

MessageHi Wayne,
GREAT JOB and wonderful present to all those who spent time growing up on the Spangler also known during my tenure as The Galloping Ghost of the California Coast. I have fond memories of 2and 1/2 years (1952-1954) as a member of the Sonar Team. I hope the project which you have begun will motivate each of us who served on this fine ship to dig into our memory banks to send you our accounts of life aboard our home away from home.

Regards,
Bob Hunter a.k.a. Sam
