MessageI was in 3rd Sq. I/L from 59/61 in the 3rd Plt tank Sec.
I was 6'6'' tall and was a tank Driver. I wonder how I ever fit inside the drivers compartment.
I live in Northern N.Y. and a bunch of us get together from time to time and relive old times.
What we can remember gets better with the telling.
I see that a Robert Crisp joined I wonder if that is my old C.O.? and if it is does he still have his white Bunny Hat?

MessageTerry Johnston:

Yes, I did live off post about the last year of my tour. Was Smaj. Richardson the Squadron SMAJ.
while you where there?

Sgt. Lofton sounds familiar too. Unfortunately, the memories after almost forty years have faded somewhat. I'm sure if we keep at it, we'll find someone we knew in common.

Thanks. Chris [email protected]

MessageHi Chris Hanch, My platoon Sgt was Sgt Lofton. I can't remember who the CO was. I rotated back home in Feb, 68. I issued POL & AMMO requests for a while and drove Lofton & some new Lt on alerts whenever we had one. The new guy replacing you sounds familiar. I think you lived off post? I pulled many a CQ asst with various SGTs. Keep in touch.

Thanks for re-re-sponding to my message.
Who was your platoon sgt.?

When I rotated back to the States in November '67
my replacement clerk was Jerry McCaskill, a tall,
lumbering lad from Oklahoma. Remember him?

Forgot who the CO was at the time. Could have been Capt. Kampf.

are right about 2nd Lts. He ate 'em up.

Terry, I'd probably remember you if I saw your picture. I conducted mail call most every day.
