MessageTo All At Windlaw

Just read about your decision to move to the Saturday afternoon league as one team.

Greenhills Dynamo will miss the battles we've had with you over the years. Maybe with you gone Blochairn can go with you along with Tynecastle and AS Airdrie.....we might win the league then!

Our games have always had a great edge to them but we can also admire the players you have had over the years. Eck McCaig was a bloody nuisance and a thorn in our side! Big Zander was always excellent at the back and Lunny is probaly as nutty as Whytey!!

All I can say is all the best and if anyone is looking for a Saturday Morning team then get in touch!!! smilie smilie

MessageGood luck next season in the GGAFL and I dont think that it will take you long to move up the divisions. can I say that it has been a pleasure and sometimes an education playing against Windlaw for the last 6 seasons. I remember in our first season in division 2 we met in a semi final and we lost 2-0, we probably learned more in that game than the rest of the season put together. We then went on to win 8-3 at Glenconner in a freak game and got paid back with a 5-1 hammering at Barlia.

In the past couple of seasons as Manager I have maintained that finishing above Windlaw would mean that we were there or there abouts but still could'nt beat you and I will take it as a scalp to have won on your last competitive league game.

I was lucky enough to play against Benny and Shug, Zander and Mackay in their prime and tougher opponent would be hard to find, especially in the position that I played i would need to say that Shug Neeson was one of the best players that I faced.

So good luck and we at Blochairn along with the other established clubs in the league will try to improve the league further but it will be a worse place without Windlaw - Good luck lads, maybe see yous in the west or the Scottish

MessageLast night was the night The Beautiful Game died after a truly awful defensive display by the wattienaccio. Even the Italians, who are masters of defending, were disgusted as you took it to a new level.

RIP The Beautiful Game we knew as football
